Our Service

The sabbatical month is over and now you have been a Mary sitting at the feet of the Master, you are now poised, prepared and primed for service as a Martha.  We live in a world where so many want to be served rather than to serve. To serve is not fashionable and very few will aspire to servanthood. However, the Bible teaches us about this very thing. Jesus Himself came.  So many of you will be doing your work quietly and unrecognized by the others and for others it will be a thankless job.

Beloved, your work and service will often be misunderstood. But your work for the Lord is not optional but a requirement. The Lord expects us to be serving in His Kingdom eternally. And he has called us to be faithful beginning now. We serve God and from Him come our joy, satisfaction and reward.  Since God has called you, be available to Him. However busy you may be, make time for the Lord. Maintain a healthy balance between the hours you spend for your work, your career and family, and the time you spend for the Lord. Never let your busy schedule erase your time for God and His kingdom. Maintain a healthy balance between the various components of responsibility.

Get to love the Lord and that love will spread horizontally as well.  Serving the Lord and being available for Him will not be a burden when there is love. For sure, there will be difficulties and problems but never compromise nor bargain your present circumstances with your future gain.  Memorize this scripture:
(2 Corinthians 4:17 KJV) For our light affliction which is but for a moment worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.

What a contrast! Our present may be” full of affliction.” But our future life is “full of glory.” While our burden may be light, the glory is of such great weight. While the burden for the present is only momentary, the glory that is to be revealed is described as being eternal. And it is the light affliction that worketh for us a far greater and eternal magnitude of glory

Beloved, don’t let your problems distort your sense of destiny. Consider the immense magnitude of the coming glory: Know you will be rewarded and your labor will never be in vain. What and how we do now for the Lord will affect the intensity of the joy that we will experience when we meet with our Savior. Just think of the unspeakable joy of hearing Him say “His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” (Matthew 25:23 KJV)
