" Growth brings stability and growth is demonstrated by love."

We have been talking about the 10 W’s. Highland is a Word of God Church. We are a worshiping community, and everything
we do here must glorify the Lord. We are a witnessing people that point others to our Lord Jesus Christ and a people of
warfare that pray intently and intensely. Though we come from so many different nation and backgrounds, we come to the
warmth of Christian fellowship and love. As a diverse group of people, we join in the gifting and calling to become the well-knit
local church family. We are under a God ordained leadership and covering. This community of local believers must be a people
with a willingness to give of themselves, their time, talents and tithes for the expansion of God’s kingdom. We are called to
be wholesome people that should touch the total spirit, of the church and the community. We touch people, not only in their
spiritual growth, but also their emotions, mind and body through the various ministries that God has raised within the body.
We must not only hear the word but walk in it. How could we do it? Through the discipline of being Weaned to grow.
Ephesians 4:15 tells us that maturity is the goal. The priority and the purpose of Weaning is that we might grow up in Christ.
That we might become mature men and women established upon the foundation of Christ. And all this through and in
Christ, for he alone becomes our standard. Eph 4:15 tells us that “from the whole body…grows up.” “Sola Christio,”
“Christ Alone!” was the cry of the reformers and must be ours as well. Our source to growing in Christ is the Word of God.
Our growth is gradual and does not happen over night. Read Ephesians 4 for the growing process, verse 13 says
we reach maturity … And become”. Verse 15b tells us that “we will in all things grow up”. Verse 16 in the same chapter
says “every supporting ligament grows.” This is so important to realize. Many Christian become frustrated because they
did not mature instantly overnight, and become transformed into a sinless saint. Growing is a slow process. You inevitably
walk after you learn to crawl. Walking comes with the experience of falling. Each time a little infant tries to walk, the
distance between the falls become longer and longer. That is how it is in the Christian walk, and how it should be. It
should be slow and meaningful. God is not looking for Christian cattails but He wants Christian oaks. If you want instant
growth it may happen for a moment and gone tomorrow as cattails. But oaks are different. They grow slowly, but as
they grow, they set their roots firm and establish themselves in the soil. (Eph. 4:14) “ That we will no longer be infants,
tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and
craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming”. Growth is gradual. Growth brings stability and growth is demonstrated by
love. (Eph.4: 15-16) “Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is,
Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up
in love, as each part does its Works.” You have a Work to do in this church, in this community and the world around us!
