The Gift of Love Ministry was established to assist people within our congregation and our community with used clothing in good condition and a monthly distribution of food. Whether you need food, clothing supplies or prayer, we are there for you.
The Ministry meets every 2nd Saturday from 10 am -12 noon on the (lower level in Room 7/20) for food preparation and the last Sunday of every month to distribute food in the (Chapel). Sr. Violet Banmally, Ministry Leader.
Please contact us if you would like to volunteer for food preparation and or distribution.
Responsibilities include:
· Sort clothing
· Pack food
· Greet people
· Become knowledgeable of the programs and services available at the Church
· Attend volunteer meetings as scheduled
Qualifications:
· Member of Highland Church or regular attendance.
· People skills (There is interaction with people from many walks of life).
· Show kindness, compassion, friendship and the love of Christ.
· Pray with individual as needed.
Time Commitment:
· 10 am to 2 pm every 2nd Saturday of the month.
· Assist with food distribution immediately following either the 8:00 am or 10:30 am Services.
Training Provided:
· Volunteer meetings held at least once a month.
· Training provided by Highland senior volunteers at the Church.
