Pastor Subash Cherian is the Senior Pastor of Highland Church. He was the pastor of a vibrant growing church in India since 1973. He then traveled extensively to some 20 countries throughout the Middle East, Europe and Far East; both as a Minister and Overseas Director of a National Evangelical organization. In 1984, the Lord supernaturally led him to Highland Church in New York, where he assisted the Senior Pastor James Wright. After Rev. Wright’s homegoing, the mantle was placed upon Pastor Cherian to lead this wonderful body of Christ. He has a Pastor’s heart and a compassionate heart for the persecuted church overseas. |
Pastor Hantz Andre is the Assistant Pastor of Highland Church. He
was born in Port-au-Prince Haiti. He has been a member of Highland Church since
he received the Lord in 1976. Since that time, he has served as an Usher,
Sunday School teacher, an Altar Worker, a Deacon and Bible College teacher. Pastor
Hantz is married to sister Yanick who was instrumental in leading him to
Christ. They have two children, Bernard and Emmanuel. |
Pastor Valerie Surrett is the Assistant Pastor and Minister of Worship at Highland Church. She has been a member of Highland Church since the age of ten. Before joining the church staff, she served as a musician and was an original member of Salt of the Earth, as Highland’s praise team was called when it was formed. Pastor Valerie holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Music Education from Queens College, CUNY. She and her husband, Jeff, have two sons, Daniel and Stephen. She considers it a high privilege to serve the Lord and His people, and is very excited about what the Lord is doing at Highland. |
